nThe enterprise manager
is an elegant graphical tool to manage all your servers. This software
is mostly complete, and you can see its structure, but it is not
really useful. It uses a
module named RosettaStone.pm to map high level concepts (who is logged in, get a
list of logins, get blocks, show object ddl etc.) to database specific results. The
Manager uses Plugins to provide database and business specific
functionality. Plugins are simple perl/Tk/DBI modules that
can add user interface elements and provide associated functionality. Plugins
will be distributed from a central "store" (think cpan)
from which bug fixes, feature updates, and enhancements will be distributed. The
G.E.M. comes with administration plugins for SQL Server, Sybase,
and Oracle – and you can use these as a template to design your own
easily. Release Date 3Q05
